Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Completes Rapid Implementation of SunGard's Investran
April 19, 2011 — New York
Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), a venture capital firm, has implemented SunGard’s Investran to help automate its fund administration and investor management. Investran supports the entire investment lifecycle by automating front-, middle- and back-office processes for private equity and alternative investment firms. KPCB has deployed Investran using SunGard’s Infinity Software-as-a-Service* (SaaS) delivery model.
KPCB selected Investran to help it manage its investor and portfolio administration business. Investran will help the organization efficiently respond to investor requests, monitor portfolio investments, enhance reporting and improve communications with investors and portfolio companies. Investran’s browser-based front-end will help investment and investor relations professionals access critical information quickly and securely through the Infinity SaaS-based platform.
John McGrath, chief investment officer at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, said, “When selecting a solution, we focused on choosing a proven platform with the functionality that would meet our current needs as well as scale with our growth. We also had a very demanding implementation schedule, going-live with all our active funds, including historical data, in less than five months. The commitment from the SunGard Investran team helped us meet our aggressive goals.”
Lauren Iaslovits, chief operating officer for SunGard’s Investran business unit, said, “Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers joins a growing number of venture capital firms looking to improve their fund administration and reporting practices. The Investran team has worked closely with KPCB to help it achieve the comprehensive functionality and scalability it requires in order to support its evolving businesses.”
